Friends of Lewis County Animal Shelter (FOLCAS) is a 501 (c)(3)non-profit organization dedicated to serving the needs of the animals, large and small, in Lewis County. Located in Chehalis, Washington, FOLCAS was formed in 2003 by animal lovers and supporters of Lewis County Animal Shelter (LCAS). FOLCAS's primary goal is to aid the Lewis County Animal Shelter in caring for the animals it houses and assisting in finding homes for as many animals as possible through adoption and outreach programs. It is also our goal to promote responsible pet ownership in Lewis County by educating the community on the importance of spaying and neutering their pets.
FOLCAS meets the first Wednesday of every month at noon. Meeting are held at 156 NW Chehalis Avenue in Chehalis (right behind the public health building).
FOLCAS helps care for the animals of the LCAS by offering many different programs that lend a hand to the shelter. These programs are funded by private donations to FOLCAS and then the resources from those programs are given to the LCAS when needed.
FOLCAS is led by a board of 11 volunteer members who guide and direct the programs of the organization. They include:
